WISN-TV, the ABC affiliate in Milwaukee, WI has an opening for an experienced Building Maintenance Associate. The Building Maintenance Associate is responsible for staffing the front reception desk, managing building access and security, and supporting facility operations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a professional front office presence while ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient station operations

Job Responsibilities:

Front Desk & Administrative Support

  • Staff the front reception desk during assigned hours
  • Greet and assist visitors, vendors, contractors, and guests in a professional manner
  • Answer and route incoming calls as needed
  • Manage visitor logs and ensure proper sign-in procedures
  • Coordinate deliveries and packages

Building Access, Security & Safety

  • Maintain building security by controlling and monitoring access for guests and contractors
  • Verify credentials and ensure all visitors follow station security protocols
  • Issue temporary access badges as required
  • Escort or coordinate appropriate access to restricted areas
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Facilities for scheduled service work
  • Monitor security concerns and report issues promptly
  • Perform weekly fire system checks in accordance with station safety procedures
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of all fire system inspections and checks

Facility Support

  • Stock and maintain break rooms, including supplies and organization
  • Monitor and report facility-related issues
  • Assist with general office support tasks as assigned

Qualifications Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; associate degree or technical training preferred
  • Previous experience in broadcast operations, facilities support, security, or front desk roles preferred
  • Basic understanding of broadcast operations or willingness to train
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Professional demeanor with a strong customer-service focus
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a live broadcast environment
  • Basic computer proficiency

Work Environment:

  • Full-time position
  • May require occasional evenings, weekends, or holiday coverage
  • Combination of office environment and technical operations area
