Muth Electric is looking for an Electrical Change Order Specialist to manage the administrative and technical process of documenting, pricing, and authorizing modifications to our Data Center project in Cedar Rapids, IA.
This role is open for immediate hire as we widen the electrical project's original scope of work. This person will bridge the gap between field operations and project management to ensure all changes are accurately tracked and compensated.
Core Responsibilities Change Identification & Documentation: Monitor field activities and project drawings to identify potential change orders (modifications to original contract scope). Estimating & Pricing: Prepare detailed quotations and pricing for additional labor, equipment, and materials required for the new scope. Project Team Coordination: Collaborate with electrical contractors, project managers, and clients to discuss and formally draft change orders. Documentation Lifecycle: Own and manage the change order lifecycle from initial request through negotiation and final closure. System Management: Accurately enter and track change data within ERP systems or construction management software like Bluebeam. Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving discrepancies or claims related to change requests. Position Requirements
Key Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience as an electrician or in this industry Ability to provide highly-accurate estimates for a wide variety of electrical projects Excellent customer service skills Professional demeanor and appearance Proficiency in reading electrical blueprints and understanding the National Electrical Code (NEC). Experience with construction-specific tools (Bluebeam) and standard office suites (Microsoft Excel/Word). Ability to negotiate with clients and vendors to finalize pricing and contract terms.
