
Customer and Community Engagement Internship

We work hand-in-hand with cities and local community organizations to connect communities of color, non-English speakers, and renters/landlords to energy-saving programs and affordable renewable energy. These programs help families and small businesses save money, make their homes healthier, and reduce emissions to combat climate change. We are also increasing green career opportunities for people of color, multilingual individuals, and women.
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate college student or recent graduate to support our Outreach team and Community Engagement team at All In Energy. As part of the Outreach Team, this role will work closely with the Outreach Manager, Customer Engagement Director, the Outreach Team Lead, and our Community Outreach Ambassadors to support the growth of a key equity program, the Home Modernization Navigator. The role will involve developing partnerships in our priority communities, finding community events and opportunities for presentations, and evaluating past outreach efforts to develop recommendations for improvements. We are seeking an intern who can be in-person in Springfield, Taunton, Framingham, Chelsea, Lynn, or the Lawrence area for outreach prospecting and events about once every two weeks. As part of the Community Engagement Team, this role will work closely with the Community Engagement Director and Program Coordinator to support the energy efficiency and equity outreach through the Community First Partnership.
Intern will:
Support logistics for frequent virtual and occasional in-person training events Schedule and register for in-person community outreach events for outreach ambassadors Assist with ordering and preparing outreach materials for events and canvassing Evaluating previous events, writing up, and presenting recommendations for Outreach Ambassadors Take on various short-term projects as needed, such as reorganizing Google Drive folders, research projects, and developing new and improved internal systems Assemble resources for the community partners such as how-to guides, best practices, and FAQ documents Support the Senior Program Managers and Community Engagement Director in the development and revision of training materials such as slide decks, outlines, and videos Support the reviewing and processing of documents such as invoices and memoranda of understanding for new community partners Join and support some of the community partner check-in meetings to learn more about the dynamic role we play as a support for community-driven outreach efforts Growth opportunities include:
Public speaking at events and/or partnership meetings Learning about Massachusetts' nation-leading energy efficiency programs, including the Home Modernization Navigator Learning about Massachusetts' nation-leading energy efficiency programs including Community First Partnership Understanding barriers that frontline organizations identify with energy efficiency uptake Partnership development and management skills Core administrative and technical skills Hands-on experience in training development and implementation Opportunities to identify, design, and manage time-bound projects Required Qualifications:
Passion for addressing global climate change, equitable clean energy access, and economic and environmental justice Strong communication skills Demonstrated ability to creatively problem solve and adapt to a changing environment Ability to work independently and as a part of a small, nimble team Strong attention to detail and ability to keep records and systems organized Ability to travel occasionally around the Greater Boston, Springfield, Taunton, Lynn, and/or Merrimack Valley area Preferred Qualifications:
Experience communicating with the residents of low-income and/or majority-minority communities Basic knowledge of energy efficiency programs Experience with Asana, or other task management platforms (ie, Monday.com, Trello, etc.), and Google Suite Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Khmer is a plus Hours and Compensation:
$20/hour Up to 40 hours per week throughout the summer Flexible schedule of primarily remote work, with some in-person outreach events occasionally on evenings and weekends
