Position: The Managing Director will be an experienced and dynamic non-profit administrator ready to partner with Global Detroit’s long-serving, founding Executive Director, staff, board, and partners to advance Global Detroit’s local efforts. This full-time, salaried, exempt position offers an initial salary range of $100,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications, within the organization’s annual budget. The role involves overseeing operations in Detroit and Southeastern Michigan, managing finances, and supporting local fundraising.
Responsibilities:
Lead, empower, and motivate a dedicated team of professionals committed to advancing Global Detroit’s mission.
Expand local relationships with communities, funders, partners, and new collaborators.
Enhance Global Detroit’s local policy work to strengthen sector leadership.
Integrate immigrant voices and expertise into the organization’s work.
Partner with the Executive Director to balance program management, impact measurement, sector trends, and national center initiatives.
Champion and uphold the organization’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB).
Ensure effective operating processes and accountability standards are in place.
Develop a strong partnership with the Board of Directors, clarifying roles and responsibilities.
Qualifications:
At least five years of senior leadership or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of and passion for economic development, community development, and/or the immigrant experience.
