Position Overview
Northwell Health is seeking a full‑time Director of Plastic Surgery with 3‑5 years of surgical experience and microvascular training. The director will lead a high‑volume hospital‑based plastic surgery program focused on breast reconstruction and complex procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Provide independent surgical care for plastic surgery patients.
Develop and maintain the service line’s surgical protocols and quality metrics.
Supervise and mentor residents, physician assistants, and surgical staff.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (oncology, orthopedics, etc.).
Participate in surgical education and oversight of clinical curriculum.
Engage in translational and/or clinical research to advance patient care.
Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited institution and board‑certified in plastic surgery (or completed fellowship).
3‑5 years of postoperative practice with microvascular experience.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervised training of medical students and residents.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Eligibility to apply for an academic appointment at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine is advantageous.
