We are looking for an adaptive and creative fashion jewelry designer who has experience with multiple areas of the design process (from conceptualization to completion) including but not limited to jewelry design (componentry design, silhouette creation, recoloring), and in-house sample making and product development with factories overseas.
Our company designs and manufactures jewelry, gifting, and hair accessories for major department stores and retailers. We would like a well-rounded designer to support presentations through idea development, sample-making, product development with overseas suppliers, trend shopping, etc…
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with Sales team to create on trend, brand right designs and presentations for American Eagle, Free People, Altar’d State, and other Brick and Mortar retailers
Communication and follow-up with cross functional teams from design inception to completion
Communication with overseas factories to design and create new jewelry components and development
Communication and follow-up with external customers’ design and buying teams regarding product design, trends, and requirements
Participate in market and buying meetings with Sales team and Customers
Support and collaborate with Merchandising Product Development teams, and other Design team members to create unique product and presentations for accounts
In collaboration with PD/Design teams; create trend driven groups to merchandise and update showroom per market
Design by hand styles that cannot be procured through our factory base
Present trends and idea’s to VP of Sales and Merchandising
Cost negotiation with overseas vendors to ensure pricing meets customer targets and price-points
Light domestic travel to present lines to customers
Job Qualifications
Experience in the above tasks/roles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple teams.
Proactive in work approach and willing to learn how design intersects in development processes.
Exceptional communication skills.
Must be able to effectively carry out multiple projects while maintaining and prioritizing deadlines
Highly organized and detail oriented
Skills
Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator and Photoshop - extremely proficient required
Excellent hands-on skills to create samples and mock-ups
