JRP Utility Construction is a full-service, turn-key utility construction company specializing in walkout and design, permitting, aerial and underground construction, fiber and copper splicing, testing, and closeout packages. Safety, accuracy, and protecting existing infrastructure are at the core of everything we do. Responsibilities
Locate and mark underground utilities using industry-standard locating equipment. Assist with bore path and handhole locating for underground construction activities. Interpret and work from construction maps, utility prints, and electronic diagrams. Communicate clearly with project managers, crew members, contractors, and property owners (English required; bilingual is a plus). Perform potholing (by hand or with equipment) to verify utility locations. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of locating activities. Follow all company safety policies, state regulations, and job-site requirements. Restore disturbed areas to original condition when required. Load, unload, and maintain tools, materials, and equipment. Prepare and clean job sites before and after utility work. Perform general labor tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in utility locating or related underground utility work. Ability to accurately read and interpret utility prints and construction plans. Strong attention to detail and commitment to job-site safety. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to work independently and manage field responsibilities. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications
Experience locating for HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) operations. CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) a plus, but not required. OSHA or other safety certifications preferred. Prior experience working around fiber, copper, gas, water, or electric utilities. Bilingual (English/Spanish). Additional Requirements
Overnight travel is required for some projects. Travel may range from a few days to several consecutive weeks. Lodging will be provided as applicable. Willingness to work flexible hours based on project needs. Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods. Must be capable of safely performing physically demanding tasks.
