Job Overview The Real Estate Services Department is seeking a Real Property Agent III in the Acquisitions Division to lead complex property acquisition negotiations. In this leadership capacity, the candidate will manage high‑level, sensitive transactions, mentor other agents, and provide technical guidance in acquisitions, sales, and relocation services.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert property recommendations to County department clients and lead implementation.

Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) and manage contracts for independent contractors delivering professional services.

Oversee tenant improvement projects from planning through execution.

Prepare reports, studies, budget proposals, and other analytical documents related to real property acquisition and disposition for public projects.

Lead negotiations for acquisition of various property types, including commercial, residential, vacant land, and encumbered land.

Qualifications

Expertise in negotiating and acquiring real property for acquisition purposes.

Demonstrated ability to deliver projects efficiently, on time, and within budget with exceptional customer service.

Proven leadership experience or potential to develop leadership skills.

Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Public/Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Senior Right of Way designation from the International Right of Way Association and/or experience with public projects and eminent domain matters is highly desirable.

Benefits Salary Range: $77,979.20 – $107,473.60 annually, depending on qualifications.

Conditions of Employment Pre‑employment process includes a background check, fingerprints, medical exam, and review of employment history. Applicants may be required to travel throughout the county and must possess a valid California Class C driver’s license, which must be maintained during employment. This position is not open to individuals who require visa sponsorship.
