This position will be key in guiding resource development and implementation of high quality YMCA Aquatic & Wellness programs to enhance the member and program participant YMCA experience and promote long-term involvement through a variety of exceptional programs and services that results in nurturing the potential in children (youth development), supporting members in their wellness journey (healthy living), and driving advocacy and community awareness (social responsibility). The position will be responsible for: safety; policy compliance; leadership of aquatic & wellness initiatives including swim lessons, swim instructor development, lifeguard training, personal training, small group training, group exercise, in-service training; serve as subject matter expert to the Aquatics and Wellness teams and manages the related charts of work; assist with developing and maintaining relationships with schools and other community partners to expand aquatic and wellness efforts within the community and achieve the goals set forth in the strategic plan; dotted-line supervision of Center Aquatics & Wellness staff. BA/BS in Health, Physical Education, Exercise Science/Kinesiology, Public/Community health related field or equivalent experience Minimum of five years of experience in YMCA operations or similar membership-based organization with a history of success and growing impact and revenue. Knowledge of wellness and aquatics operations, environments including youth and adult programming, training and facility operations/maintenance Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Office suite Consistently self-driven and goal-oriented with the ability to set effective team and individual goals and take ownership for results. Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum and train staff Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and strong ability to lead through influence Expert and up to date knowledge of services/trends, aquatics and wellness practice standards, development and quality standards/guidelines Strong fiscal management skills, with the ability to develop, implement and manage budget and evaluate financial performance and act when needed. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify and leverage relevant data to use in planning and decision-making Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
