Dishwasher-Dietary/Utility Aide - FT Porter
MUST HAVE availability to attend an 8‑business day Orientation from 8:00 am–4:00 pm without interruptions.
Hill Crest Behavioral Health Hill Crest Behavioral Health is an acute care, 194‑bed inpatient psychiatric facility located in Birmingham, AL, providing mental health services for adolescents and adults.
Responsibilities The Dishwasher‑Dietary/Utility Aide is responsible for maintaining kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils. The Porter will assist with meal preparation, dining room assistance, trash removal, dishwashing, and cleaning of the kitchen. Assists in the kitchen area prior to, during, and after meals are served to patients and staff. Keeps kitchen work areas, equipment, utensils, and serving areas clean and orderly. Wipes or mops up spills immediately to keep the kitchen floor dry. Helps stock supply shelves in the storage area and may help check in deliveries. Maintains exemplary customer service principles for efficient food preparation and delivery. Complies with the schedule as established by the Dietary Management Team and performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Verifiable HS Diploma or GED preferred
One year of food service experience preferred
Food Handler Card or ServSafe Certification preferred
Must be able to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions
New hires are required to attend one full week of New Employee Orientation on day shift, normally 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Friday, then Monday–Wednesday of the next week
Must successfully pass background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check) and drug screen
