Reports To: Captain (Store Manager)/First Mate (Assistant Manager)/Second Mate (Management Trainee)
Overview: Responsible for assisting the management team (Captain, First Mates, and Second Mates) in driving sales through exceptional customer service. Ensures the customer experience, supports our brand promise (“Every Day Should Feel This Good”) and makes service a top priority.
Functions & Responsibilities:
Generate Sales – Responsible for meeting goals/measures; develop and maintain relationships with top customers; support in‑store event sourcing and execution.
Customer Experience – Ensure the store reflects Shep & Ian’s vision of “Every Day Should Feel This Good”; lead email capture and educate new associates on best practices; keep the customer wish list current.
Crew Development – Assist with training new associates; foster a welcoming, fun, encouraging, and energetic crew and customer environment; recruit and refer top talent; support store and team‑building activities.
Operations – Maintain efficient merchandise controls; maintain loss prevention awareness at all times; keep the store clean and tidy.
Merchandising – Maintain merchandising as it pertains to company standards, current compass (floorset), and brand initiatives; contribute to weekly product feedback.

Ability to perform effective selling techniques to achieve sale and repeat business
Flexible schedule including holidays, overnights, weekends

Physical Requirements:
Stand and/or move around for extended periods of time
Reach, carry, bend, and climb ladders occasionally
Lift up to 40 pounds, unless an accommodation is requested
Hourly Rate Range: $17.29 - $18.50 /hour
