How our Selling Colleagues spend their day Our colleagues begin each day energized and ready to make an impact. They wear their name badge with pride, greet teammates with a warm hello, and help ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and prepared for customers. Before getting started, they review their sales goals, learn about new arrivals and top-selling items, and stay up to date on current trends and promotions. On the floor, they focus on the customer—offering a warm welcome, making eye contact, and creating friendly, personal conversations to build customer relationships. They Finish Strong—sharing our Loyalty program benefits, making sure customers have all they need, and ending with a sincere thank-you, often walking the package around and using the customer’s name. We believe service starts with each other—supporting one another with honesty, care, and collaboration so we can better serve our customers and communities. We strive for excellence as a journey—pride in our work, achieving sales goals, and learning from each other to deliver store results. Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week. Greet and connect with customers in a friendly and genuine way, showing appreciation and care for their experience. Recommend products by asking questions to identify needs and suggest options that resonate with the customer. Offer options and solutions to complete the sale. Wrap up the shopping journey, celebrate purchases, and share in the customer’s excitement. Master store products, services, loyalty programs, and Macy’s sales systems to help customers find what they need and suggest additional items. Maintain department recovery standards, including selling floor and fitting rooms. Deliver optimal merchandise presentation, ensure accurate pricing, and process markdowns timely and accurately. Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships with colleagues, customers, and communities. Skills You Will Need Product Knowledge:
Understanding of the products and ability to provide expert guidance based on customer wants, features, and choices. Communication:
