Position Summary
Provide support to the Recreation Services Supervisor (Manager) for community outreach, teen programs, camps, and special events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities.
Assist with planning and implementing county‑wide middle school and high school leisure classes.
Nurture new and existing relationships with collaborative partners.
Provide direct leadership to camp or class programs.
Assist in marketing programs.
Maintain accurate inventory and deliver program supplies and materials.
Market, assist with registration and track attendance.
Complete County van driving training and operate a County van.
Transport supplies from warehouse to program sites, distribute flyers and materials, and move/lift up to 50 pounds.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Recreation Manager.
Work evening and weekend hours.
Minimum Required Education / Experience Must be at least 18 years old.
Coursework in education, recreation, sports management, child psychology or related studies.
Preferred Education / Experience Strong knowledge of recreation programming and ability to multi‑task. Communicate well verbally and in writing; knowledge of program policies and procedures; possess strong organizational and computer skills in Word, Excel and Publisher. Possess excellent public relations skills.
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
Bilingual Preferred .
Rate of Pay Salary commensurate with education and experience.
Level I: Less than one (1) year experience in specialized skilled area.
Level II: Includes two (2) years of professional experience in public speaking, community outreach and youth programming.
Level III: Includes three (3) years or more of professional experience, specialized education & training in public speaking, community outreach, and youth programming.
Level I - $16.00-$18.00 (Paraprofessional)
Level II - $18.00-$22.00 (Paraprofessional)
Level III - $22.00 - $26.00 (Professional)
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations Valid Class C driver's license along with a copy of driving record.
