
USAM, a high-end architectural millwork firm based in Northern VA, is looking for a Custom Mechanic/Builder for our facility in Manassas, VA. We are seeking Custom Builders to join our growing team! As part of our Custom Builders team you’ll take a vision and make it a reality!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Read shop drawings and work orders to develop sequence of cutting or machine operations to fabricate custom millwork products
Produce quality custom cabinets and specialized millwork
Handle woodworking equipment and tools proficiently and safely
Meet production goals with precision
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 2 years experience in millwork and cabinet making
Skilled use of sanders, routers, saws and woodworking hand tools
Proficient at using a tape measure
Experience working in an AWI custom shop
Experience with laminate materials and solid surface fabrication is required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands, handle/feel objects, tools, or controls
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must occasionally push, pull, or lift from below the waist, or lift from an overhead position and carry 5-75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in the shop floor where there may be moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to the risk of electrical shock, outdoor weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally high

Minimal travel is required for this position.
