Job Overview
Volunteers of America Colorado is a nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in need transform their lives. Through more than 50 distinct human service programs, it serves more than 140,000 vulnerable Coloradoans each year by offering housing, emergency shelters, hunger and nutrition services, and many other community support programs.
We are seeking a dedicated and organized professional to act as a Leasing Agent responsible for showing and leasing apartments in accordance with regulatory agreements, Volunteers of America policies, and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process applications by conducting applicant interviews, obtaining third‑party verifications, calculating income, assets, and medical expenses, and entering data into the property management software. Confirm that the software‑calculated rent is accurate.
Execute applicant lease documents in accordance with Volunteers of America policy and procedure.
Assist in processing recertifications and interim recertifications.
Assist in the collection and posting of resident rents and utilities; deliver rent delinquency notices.
Maintain applicant waitlists and resident files in compliance with program regulations and conduct semi‑annual waitlist updates.
Help compile program‑required documents for the annual financial audit.
Monitor the property and resolve minor issues, escalating more serious issues when necessary in the absence of the Community Administrator.
Collaborate with Service Coordinators to enhance resident quality of life.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and one‑year administrative/clerical office experience.
Knowledge of computer operations, including basic data entry.
Effective communication skills and ability to maintain good relations with residents and employees.
Basic math aptitude.
Position Type Full time, Nonexempt/Hourly
Pay Range $19.29 – $20.74 per hour (based on experience)
