The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Communications Specialist.
The preferred schedule for this position is full time.
JOB SUMMARY:
Communications Specialist provides a variety of administrative support to the Organizational Communication Department. Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Organizational Communication, incumbent assists with managing and enhancing the flow of information between the Tribe and its target audiences, both internal and external. This involves creating content, managing medical relations, and supporting communication efforts to build and maintain a positive reputation.
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in communications, PR, journalism, or applicable field, or 2 years of communications/PR experience required. Preferred experience in creative writing, social media postings, and interviewing for news articles. Familiarity with programs such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. Dependable, reliable, and possess organizational skills. Must pass pre-employment drug screening. Indian preference.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Assist the Organizational Communication Department in all aspects of administrative support. Monitor the performance of digital content, analyze trends, and generate reports to optimize outreach strategies. Experience with managing and distributing information across multiple digital platforms, ensuring consistent and engaging messaging. Create, edit, and refine written content for public materials, ensuring clarity, consistency, and brand alignment. Utilize basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) to create visually appealing content such as flyers, digital images, and event promotions. Create and distribute the monthly Redding Rancheria newsletter, ensuring timely and accurate content delivery. Serve on various event planning committees for Redding Rancheria's events, including but not limited to the Easter Egg Hunt, Discover Health Fair, Members' Gathering, etc. Gather, organize, and develop content for public distribution through newsletters, the organization's website, flyers, and other channels for public outreach and engagement. Assist in coordinating the master calendar of events for the entire Tribe, ensuring seamless integration of departmental schedules. Manage and coordinate multiple calendars, scheduling internal and external meetings, events, and logistics. Organize and facilitate meetings, appointments, and training sessions as necessary. Assist in maintaining photo and information archives throughout the year, contributing to the annual State of the Tribe report. Act as an information liaison, maintaining records and ensuring effective communication within the department and with external stakeholders. Process monthly invoices, complete requisitions, and assist in financial tracking as required. Capture high quality photos and videos at Redding Rancheria events for archival purposes and public information. Edit photos and videos for distribution through various digital channels. Develop interview questions for and conduct interviews with employees, tribal members, and community members for Redding Rancheria newsletter articles. Creation of engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences, fostering community interaction and increasing public engagement.
