Director of Business Operations Liminal is a global market intelligence and strategic advisory firm specializing in digital identity, financial crime and compliance, and IT security technology solutions. Founded in 2016, we support executive decision‑making at all product and business lifecycle stages and advise some of the world’s most prominent leaders, investors, and policymakers on building, acquiring, and investing in next‑generation solutions and technologies.

Location: New York, NY

Pay Range: $145,000 – $180,000 USD per year (HQ)

Responsibilities

Coordinate the weekly, monthly, and quarterly operating cadence, ensuring teams are aligned on priorities, deadlines, and interdependencies.

Manage the company‑wide OKR process, including setup, progress tracking, reporting, and follow‑ups.

Support the preparation of internal reporting, dashboards, and operating reviews for the senior leadership team.

Identify operational risks or gaps early and elevate them appropriately to leadership.

Build and maintain scalable processes across Finance, People, GTM, Product, and Engineering to improve speed, accuracy, and cross‑functional clarity.

Document workflows, create SOPs, and implement systems that reduce friction and enforce accountability.

Partner with leaders to streamline coordination across all business units.

Evaluate internal tools and systems, proposing improvements or automation opportunities.

Ensure documentation, approvals, and processes comply with company policies.

Lead cross‑functional projects from scoping through execution, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.

Track progress, manage dependencies, and communicate updates to stakeholders.

Provide structured problem‑solving for ambiguous internal challenges.

Support the senior leadership team with ad‑hoc strategic and operational requests with high reliability and speed.

Partner with Finance, People, GTM, Product, and Engineering to ensure metrics, KPIs, and reporting are accurate and consistently maintained.

Build dashboards or analytical models that provide visibility into business performance.

Support monthly reporting, along with forecasting and planning cycles, with clean and reliable data.

Serve as a trusted resource for cross‑functional leaders, helping coordinate work and clarify priorities.

Ensure leadership requests (ad‑hoc analyses, projects, or operational questions) are triaged, managed, and completed on time.

Drive clarity and alignment during planning cycles and team meetings.

Required Qualifications

4–7 years of experience in Business Operations, Strategy, Program Management, RevOps, or a similar function within SaaS or technology environments.

Demonstrated experience managing complex workstreams in project management software (ideally Asana), including building project plans, dashboards, timelines, and task workflows.

Strong understanding of project management frameworks and ability to apply them to drive clarity, accountability, and on‑time execution.

Analytical and systems‑oriented mindset, with experience administering or integrating core operational tools (CRM, HRIS, financial systems, project management platforms).

Exceptional communication skills; concise, structured, and able to synthesize complex information for senior leaders.

High ownership, reliability, and attention to detail, with the ability to operate independently and cross‑functionally.

AI‑native working style, including hands‑on experience with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for research and analysis.

Proficiency with presentation and analysis tools, including PowerPoint, Google Slides, Excel, and Google Sheets, with the ability to build clear, data‑driven materials.

Strong quantitative and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex data sets and communicate actionable insights.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Highly organized and proactive, with strong internal client service skills and the ability to develop productive working relationships across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in early‑stage technology companies (Seed–Series B), particularly in BizOps, Strategy, or cross‑functional operational roles.

Exposure to GTM operations, including pipeline hygiene, forecasting, and CRM management.

Experience designing or implementing automation or AI‑driven operational workflows.

Background in management consulting, investment banking, internal strategy, or business transformation roles.

Company OKRs, planning cycles, and reporting rhythms run predictably and on schedule.

Operational processes across GTM, Product, and Finance are standardized and documented.

Data systems are clean, reliable, and support better decision‑making.

Cross‑functional initiatives are delivered on time and with clear visibility.

SLT receives timely insights, updates, and support for strategic decision‑making.

The organization experiences meaningful reductions in operational friction.
