Position Overview:
The Sales Manager is responsible for proactively developing and maintaining strong relationships with group clients, maximizing revenue through strategic sales efforts, and driving group business to the hotel. This role requires a seasoned hospitality sales professional with a strong network, strategic mindset, and proven record in group sales within the luxury or upscale hotel market.
Responsibilities
Prospect, solicit, and secure new group business through proactive sales strategies.
Manage an assigned group market segment, maintaining and growing accounts to meet or exceed revenue goals.
Develop and maintain relationships with meeting planners, travel agencies, corporations, and associations.
Create and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
Collaborate and assist the Director in leading internal departments (catering, events, revenue management, operations) to ensure seamless execution of group bookings.
Attend industry tradeshows, networking events, and client entertainment to represent the Hamilton brand.
Maintain accurate records in the CRM system, track activity, and report on sales performance.
Stay current with competitive set and market trends to develop effective sales strategies.
Qualifications Required:
Minimum 5+ years of hotel sales experience, preferably in group or corporate sales.
Strong existing relationships within the Washington DC meetings and events market is a plus.
Proven track record of exceeding sales goals and managing key accounts.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Proficiency in sales systems (Delphi, Opera, or similar CRM software).
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field.
Experience working in a luxury or independent hotel environment.
Familiarity with Washington DC market dynamics.
