Children's Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. Department Overview The Surgery department provides surgical services to treat multiple issues from dental/oral to urologic conditions on an inpatient and outpatient basis. They assist in providing a pre-surgery program for patients, their siblings, and their parents which includes a tour of the hospital and a discussion on how the family can prepare for the upcoming hospital visit. Position Summary Overall responsibility of this position is to support Children's St. Paul revenue management through coordination of the following functions: verification of insurance eligibility, coordination of referrals and prior authorizations, procedure quotes, patient financial counseling and the reconciliation and audit of patient charges. This position provides support to the patient scheduling and admission process through quality monitoring, backup assistance and coordination of system information. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining accurate statistical data and validation/audit of statistical data entry within Children's St. Paul. Acts as resource to Data and Record Services, Revenue Management and Central Billing Office as directed by Data Support Technician. High School graduate. Four year degree; concentration in business or health care desired. Minimum three years experience within healthcare business office or admitting department. Physical Demands The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee's scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
