Cleared Outside Machinist

We are seeking a 1st Class Outside Machinist with an active secret security clearance or one that was active within the last 24 months. This role involves the overhaul and repair of pumps, motors, valves, and other auxiliary equipment. Successful candidates must possess submarine torpedo tube or'sail' experience. The position does not require specific licenses or certifications. Responsibilities

Perform open, inspect, and repair work on marine sea water, hydraulic, and diesel systems. Conduct repair and restoration work on propulsion shaft, shaft couplings, and vibration reducers. Remove, inspect, and repair various components of fairwater, stern plane, and steering & diving systems. Remove, inspect, and repair components of submarine sail, including periscope, masts, and antennas. Repair and overhaul ship's weapons and ordinance systems, such as torpedo tubes, launchers, and weapons handling equipment. Install and repair foundations for operating machinery and principal structures/components. Essential Skills

The work is located at a shipyard in Virginia, specifically at HII and NNSY. Employees must provide their own tools and specific personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed shoes. Oceaneering supplies hard hats, safety glasses, and ear protection. Job Type & Location

This is a contract position based out of Chesapeake, VA. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
