
Goodhue County Temporary Election Assistant Position
Goodhue County is seeking applicants for a temporary, part-time position to assist with 2026 elections and customer service in the fast-paced Finance & Taxpayer Services office. Examples of duties: Assist the public with in-person and mailing of absentee ballot applications and ballots. Use SVRS to verify registration status and update voter records. Assist staff with the testing of the county's election equipment. Assist with the coordination of assembling and distributing supplies. Take the training to become certified as an Election Judge. Assist with entering voter registration information and absentee records into the statewide voter registration system. Assist with posting election history into statewide voter registration system. Assist with pickup and delivery of elections supplies. Assist staff with election and equipment returns on Election Day/ Night. Assist with recount activities. Assist with preparation of materials used for Election Judge training. Other duties as assigned. Schedule & Duration The Elections Assistant schedule will have some variation in hours worked each week depending upon elections activity and office workload. Government Center hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. There will be shifts outside of these core hours, as needed. This position will be for a maximum of 67 days between July 6 and mid-November. Minimum Qualifications This job requires a high school diploma or GED. Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment background screening. Candidates must be eligible to vote in Minnesota and able to read, write and speak English. To serve as an Election Judge, candidate must meet the MN election law criteria. Compensation The Election Assistant is compensated at $17.50 per hour. This is a temporary, part-time position and is not benefit eligible. Application Process Interested candidates must submit a Goodhue County Employment Application.
