Sterile Processing Department Leader

Responsibilities: Serve as a subject matter expert and resource leader for the Sterile Processing department, providing expert guidance on policies, procedures, and local clinical processes. Build strategic relationships with Surgical Support Services market leadership to identify education gaps and resolve complex departmental issues. Develop and maintain standardized onboarding materials and competency-based programming to ensure all associates adhere to national standards. Lead talent development efforts by creating skills-tracking systems for associates and assisting in recruitment for the Sterile Processing team. Requirements: Licensure / Certification / Registration: One or more of the following required: Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Healthcare Leadership preferred. Instrument Specialist credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association preferred. Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred. Additional Preferences: Sterile Processing background with required certification and a strong background in education or training. Advanced computer and presentation skills, with the flexibility for 50-75% travel within the TN market, including occasional overnight stays.
