Overview
Brief Description The Creative Director plays an essential role in advancing the mission of Gospel Rescue Mission (GRM) by leading the day-to-day creative and communications efforts that shape how GRM is represented to guests, donors, volunteers, staff, and the community. This position is responsible for providing strategic creative direction, safeguarding brand consistency, and overseeing the development of compelling content across digital, print, web, and multimedia platforms. Working in close collaboration with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and the Marketing and Development teams, the Creative Director helps ensure all creative initiatives are executed with excellence, clarity, and alignment with GRM’s values. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsibilities And Duties
- Represent Gospel Rescue Mission with professionalism, warmth, and integrity when engaging guests, donors, volunteers, staff, partners, and public officials
- Uphold and advance GRM’s mission, values, culture, and Standards of Excellence under the leadership of the Chief Development Officer (CDO)
- Provide strategic creative leadership and direction across all branding, marketing, communications, and multimedia initiatives
- Develop and execute integrated creative strategies and campaigns across digital, social, print, web, and multimedia platforms
- Translate complex organizational objectives into clear, compelling creative concepts and messaging for diverse audiences
- Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting all deadlines and maintaining quality and brand standards
- Review, approve, and ensure consistency and accuracy of all creative output, including art, copy, video, and digital content, in collaboration with the CDO
- Oversee content strategy and creative execution for both small- and large-scale projects, aligning design, copy, and technology
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audio, video, lighting, projection, and live-streaming systems for events, meetings, trainings, and hybrid productions
- Capture, edit, and deliver high-quality video and audio content for promotions, events, training, and internal communications
- Manage, maintain, and organize audiovisual equipment and digital media assets to ensure operational readiness and reuse
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and production support to staff and volunteers
- Collaborate with Marketing and Development teams to support fundraising, campaigns, and engagement initiatives
- Analyze brand performance, campaign results, audience insights, and market trends to inform creative decisions
- Develop internal creative campaigns that align organizational goals across departments
- Manage the Creative Department budget, forecast expenses, and ensure responsible fiscal stewardship in collaboration with the CDO
- Prepare and present reports on plans, outcomes, challenges, and effectiveness for Senior Leadership and Board review
- Conduct coaching, performance evaluations, training, and professional development for Creative Team members
- Record and report outcomes of GRM Development efforts as outlined in department playbook
- Address personnel concerns and intervene in conflict resolution as needed to maintain a healthy, mission-focused team environment
Essential Experience, Skills, And Competencies
- Demonstrated success in developing creative concepts that align with organizational goals and drive measurable results
- Lead, mentor, and manage a cross-functional creative team including designers, copywriters, social media specialists, photographers/videographers, and project managers
- Thorough understanding of professional social media management, strategy, and content planning
- Experience using industry-standard analytics and social media management platforms (e.g., Metricool, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Google Analytics)
- Proven ability to develop and execute integrated creative and marketing content across digital, social media, paid media, mobile, offline, and print channels
Professional Development
- Achieve weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual success goals as approved and by GRM benchmarks and strategic plan
- Attend professional training and networking opportunities as directed
- Attend staff meetings or other meetings as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Creative Arts, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field or 8+ years of equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of progressive operational experience in creative roles such as copywriting, graphic design, audio/video production, social media, and project management, with demonstrated responsibility for creative direction
- Strong creative vision balanced with a clear understanding of business objectives and performance outcomes
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is a plus
- Experience with budget development, administration, and staff management
- Working knowledge of WordPress, HTML, and CSS is a plus
- Personal integrity, truthfulness and accountability are critical, invaluable and essential characteristics
- Maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License and must have a clean driving record
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Must be Christian, living a life dedicated to Christ, and be an instrument of God’s love, grace, hope, and forgiveness to all
Physical Demands
- Some local travel to other locations for meetings or other business-related needs
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Employment Status
- Full-time 40 hours per week non-exempt

Starting Salary: $50,000
