
Associate, Proposal Writer

You will play a key role in asset generation and client retention by developing compelling proposals and client materials aimed at executing on sales and client service objectives. You will complete DDQs and RFIs that properly message firm and product capabilities and competitive advantages. Over time, you will progress to taking on more complex projects, including RFPs.
You will be responsible for managing the proposal process in its entirety, serving as writer, and project managing your jobs from start to finish. This role will collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization for all of Janus Henderson’s asset classes across both retail and institutional distribution teams globally.
You will have the opportunity to partner with key stakeholders enterprise-wide - including Legal, Compliance, Investments, Product Management, Product Development, Sales - to ensure proper positioning and messaging of the firm’s products, staff, protocols and services in proposal and client materials, which include RFIs, RFPs, and DDQs.
You will work with your manager and other senior writers to tailor standard content where appropriate for customization based in the individual client or prospect, and partner with the Knowledge Management team to ensure new and updated content is maintained within the RFP database
You will effectively manage projects to completion, adhering to strict deadlines and working on several projects simultaneously.
After you have gained sufficient experience, you will peer review and compliance review work produced by other team members. You will also work with the workflow managers to establish appropriate cover for absences, and participate in cross training opportunities to increase business resilience.
You will ensure as far as possible that disclosures are reflected consistently within product documentation and across like products (where jurisdictional regulations permit)
You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, as these are the basis of our metrics and reporting back to the business
You should embody a growth mindset, and be willing to embrace and contribute to organizational change, in a fast-paced, production context.

You will have a broad knowledge of institutional investment strategies across different asset classes (equities, fixed income, real estate, hedge funds, etc.) and demonstrates proper use of investment terminology used by institutional consultants and clients.
You must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced culture, and have the ability to work to quarter- and month-end deadlines, while factoring in ad-hoc business demands and data-delivery timelines. Extended hours are likely at quarter-end.
You must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to confidently engage and influence across all levels of the organization, including senior management, whilst being able to work efficiently and collaboratively in a team.
You should have a solid understanding of the market and investment products, and be eager to grow this knowledge to encompass JHI’s unique product set.
Strong experience with product-specific data such as performance, returns-based and holdings-based characteristics
Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and how that impacts on marketing collateral, and an ability to recognize non-compliant content within collateral
Strong writing and proofreading skills, as well as having an eye for detail and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure data and content is accurate, relevant and consistent, and that presentations adhere to style guidelines, regulatory requirements, and client expectations
Strong understanding of PowerPoint and the construction of professional presentations, as well as good experience in Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams
A highly organised, flexible, pragmatic, problem‑solving mindset, and strong project management capability
Bachelor’s degree

Experience of graphics or creative design, and brand
Experience with macro‑economic content and data

The base salary range for this position is $85,000-$90,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. This position will be open through April 30, 2026.
