About Keney Park Golf Course
Keney Park Golf Course is an 18-hole championship facility located in Hartford's historic Keney Park on the Hartford/Windsor town line. The course includes a driving range, short game area, and putting green, and provides a welcoming, community-focused environment for golfers of all ages and abilities.
The Connecticut Section PGA - one of 41 sections of the PGA of America - is the contractor providing golf operations at Keney Park. This position is employed by the Connecticut Section PGA and reports to the PGA Head Golf Professional.
Position Overview The Golf Operations Specialist is a highly visible team member responsible for delivering exceptional service across multiple areas of the operation. While duties may vary, the unifying theme is:
service, awareness, and a genuine desire to help others.
This position is Seasonal with flexible and approximate dates of March 15 - December 15.
Sub-roles may include:
Starter
Ranger
Practice Range Operator
Golf Car Fleet Coordinator (60 lithium-powered Club Car vehicles)
Golf Shop Attendant
New hires are not required to perform all functions immediately. We will hire exceptional candidates specifically for outside operations (starter, ranger, carts, range). However, the strongest candidates are those who would be able to work inside the Golf Shop, interacting directly with customers, collecting payments, and utilizing software systems.

Essential Responsibilities Service & Professionalism

Maintain awareness of daily operations, tee sheet flow, and facility activity
Represent the Connecticut PGA brand with professionalism
Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and co-workers
Present yourself in a professional manner, including neat grooming and proper care of staff uniform
Golf Shop Operations
Greet and check in golfers
Process greens fees, cart fees, and merchandise sales
Utilize POS systems accurately
Provide information on policies, programs, leagues, and events
Maintain a clean, organized retail space
Outside Operations - Starter, Ranger, Carts, Range
Manage tee sheet flow and staging areas
Monitor pace of play
Prepare and stage golf car fleet
Operate and maintain practice facility
Assist with tournaments and private events
