Rate: $19 USD per hour
Description The Assistant Property Manager will assist the Property Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the property. This includes tenant relations, leasing, rent collection, maintenance coordination, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized with moderate computer and software experience.
Responsibilities
Respond to resident inquiries and service requests professionally and promptly
Assist with leasing activities including tours, applications, move‑ins, and renewals
Support rent collection and follow up on delinquencies
Coordinate maintenance requests and vendor services
Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness
Maintain accurate records of leases, payments, and communications
Ensure compliance with fair housing laws and company policies
Assist with marketing efforts and online listings
Issue appropriate notices when necessary (e.g., late payments, eviction notices, returned check memos)
Update on a daily basis all rents, deposits and application fees received from residents
Manage deposits, checks and payments daily
Set-up collection files on all move‑outs and evictions with balance due to the property and refer to collection agency periodically
Technology Must demonstrate practical judgment and basic proficiency in using property management software, mobile applications, and digital tools. Responsibilities include efficiently logging work orders, communicating with team members, updating maintenance records, and managing inventory.
Professional Communication Must possess the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in emails, online platforms, and written documentation. This includes responding to resident requests, coordinating with staff, and maintaining accurate records.
Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in residential property management or leasing
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Knowledge of fair housing regulations
Proficiency in property management software (e.g., AppFolio, Yardi, Realpage)
Comfortable using email platforms, cloud‑based systems, and online leasing tools
Ability to quickly learn new software and technologies
High School diploma or better
Driver's license (preferred)
