Position Summary The Loan Closer & Paralegal is a dual‑function role supporting the execution and closing of multifamily transactions and providing administrative legal support under the direction of attorneys and senior paralegals to the organization. This position plays a critical role in coordinating loan closings, reviewing documentation, and ensuring timely funding, while also assisting the legal and capital markets teams with corporate records, compliance, and transaction management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and thrives in a fast‑paced, transaction‑driven environment.
Essential Duties Loan Closing Responsibilities
Review loan documentation, including loan agreements, closing statements, and supporting documents, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Prepare and review preliminary settlement statements and funding requests.
Coordinate execution of loan documents, including arranging signatures, notarizations, and delivery of closing packages.
Work closely with originations, underwriting, legal counsel, borrowers, title companies, and third‑party vendors to ensure timely and efficient closings.
Track closing checklists, conditions precedent, and post‑closing deliverables.
Arrange loan funding and confirm wire transfers.
Maintain complete and organized electronic and physical closing files.
Verify that all conditions precedent have been satisfied prior to requesting funding.
Paralegal Responsibility
Maintain corporate records, minute books, and entity management databases.
Support committee meetings by preparing agendas, minutes, and resolutions under attorney or senior paralegal direction. Assist with contract administration, including tracking, organization, and basic review of agreements.
Conduct legal and business research under attorney supervision.
Coordinate signatures, notarizations, and document execution.
Support compliance‑related tasks and regulatory deadlines.
Assist legal and capital markets teams in transaction management, closing processes, and post‑closing file management.
Assist attorneys and senior paralegals with special projects as needed.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with originations, underwriting, asset management, legal, capital markets, and operations teams.
Serve as a coordination point to support efficient transaction execution and legal compliance. Communicate clearly and proactively with internal and external stakeholders.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure all loan closings and legal support activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and investor guidelines.
Maintain audit‑ready documentation and organized corporate records.
Qualifications Education & Experience
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (Paralegal Studies or related field preferred)
2‑5 years of experience in a Loan closing, legal, corporate paralegal work, or administrative role
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively
Exposure to or familiarity with corporate law and governance
Tools & Systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
