
About The Role
Golden State is looking for a Senior Paralegal to join our Business & Legal Affairs team. In this role, you will provide paralegal support across a broad range of legal functions, including litigation, corporate and commercial (including contract and template drafting). Additionally, this role will assist in implementing and overseeing the legal department technology suite (including a shift to AI‑driven processes), which will include training business teams on how to intake legal matters. This position reports to the Chief Legal Officer and Deputy General Counsel.

This is a full-time position based onsite in San Francisco, CA.
Key Responsibilities
Provide litigation, corporate, and commercial paralegal support
Assist with the formation of new legal entities, and general oversight of ownership, limited partner and other equity-related matters
Help implement and onboard a full suite of legal technology, including AI drafting technology
Assist internal and external counsel in preparation for depositions, motions, hearings, arbitrations, mediation and trial
Implement and manage legal holds using e-discovery software, and assist in document and data preservation, searching, collection and production as part of the discovery process
Work closely with business partners to gather information and documents on various products to support litigation and other legal matters
Process and respond to third-party subpoenas and complaints
Serve as a subject matter expert for legal tech adoption and optimization
Draft and catalog commercial templates
Support and contribute to the development of process improvement with internal teams as needed
Help lead training sessions for business teams on legal drafting and contract intake
Assist with general compliance and corporate governance matters for the company and our subsidiaries
Coordinate with other internal teams to comply with internal and external requirements related to insurance coverage and financial reporting
Work with Finance team on legal financial reporting and tracking
Coordinate with other internal teams to comply with internal and external requirements related to insurance coverage and risk
Other duties as assigned
Required Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Paralegal certification (preferred) and Current Notary Public certificate (preferred)
5+ years of paralegal experience at law firm or in‑house corporation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/Google Suite, legal contract management platforms, legal AI tools, legal intake platforms, e‑billing and e‑discovery software, etc.
Understanding of court filing systems and research platforms (e.g., Westlaw/Lexis)
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesHigh sense of integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
Compensation
$141,000 - 149,000 + Bonus
