
Intellectual Property Paralegal

Responsibilities
Prepare, file, and manage U.S. and international patent applications, including provisional, non‑provisional, PCT, and national‑phase filings
Draft, review, and submit USPTO documents such as Office Action responses, Information Disclosure Statements (IDSs), assignments, declarations, powers of attorney, and related correspondence
Coordinate international patent filings with foreign associates and oversee global prosecution deadlines
Maintain accurate docketing of all patent‑related deadlines, ensuring compliance with USPTO and foreign jurisdiction requirements
Serve as a point of contact for attorneys, clients, inventors, and foreign counsel regarding filing requirements, deadlines, and case status
Organize and maintain patent prosecution files and electronic records in accordance with firm standards
Support patent portfolio management activities, including audits, reporting, and special projects as needed
Qualifications
Minimum of three to five years of patent prosecution paralegal experience in a law firm setting
Strong working knowledge of U.S. patent prosecution procedures and USPTO rules and regulations
Demonstrated experience coordinating international patent filings and working with foreign associates
Proficiency with USPTO Patent Center and IP docketing systems
Exceptional organizational, communication, and time‑management skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently in a fast‑paced environment
Paralegal certificate or equivalent professional experience preferred
Experience supporting multiple attorneys and managing diverse client portfolios preferred
Familiarity with patent portfolio management and reporting software preferred
