Overview The Senior Relationship Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing UAF’s mission by securing major gifts of $25,000+ from individuals, corporations, foundations, and organizations. Working as part of the central development team, this position supports fundraising efforts across colleges, schools, institutes, and programs, while championing the Chancellor’s initiatives in academics, scholarships and fellowships, facilities, and campus enhancements.

Responsibilities

Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, ensuring ongoing engagement and satisfaction.

Collaborate closely with executive leadership, community partners, and the UA Foundation to maximize philanthropic support.

Contribute to events, donor engagement strategies, and stewardship activities to strengthen UAF’s advancement culture.

Participate in professional development and civic organizations to expand networks and strengthen community ties.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business, public administration, or a related field.

Four years of experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Minimum of 4 years in successful relationship building, public relations, fundraiser activities, or similar experience.

Position Details Full‑time, exempt staff position with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. Remote (within Alaska), hybrid, or on‑campus work arrangements are fully considered in accordance with UA regulations. Benefits include retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and medical, dental, and vision coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 81, based on education and experience.
