Position Summary The Office of Assessment and Effectiveness at the College of Saint Benedict (CSB) and Saint John’s University (SJU) invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), benefit-eligible position of Assessment Specialist. The Assessment Specialist, reporting to the Associate Dean of Assessment, plays a vital role in designing, implementing, and managing assessment activities that drive program improvements and enhance student success. This position supports best practices in assessment across the College of Saint Benedict (CSB) and Saint John's University (SJU), encompassing True North Journey Operations, the Curricular Approach for the co-curriculum, and academic programs.
This role will also provide essential support for data analysis, the creation of assessment reports, supporting professional development in assessment on campus, Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation processes, and other program compliance and accreditation needs as required.

Responsibilities Assessment Management and Implementation (75%)
Facilitate the implementation of program assessment
Manage assessment schedules
Design valid and reliable assessment instruments aligned with program learning outcomes
Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
Facilitate action planning sessions with stakeholders to translate assessment findings into concrete improvement strategies
Write assessment reports
Coordinate program review processes
Support program-specific accreditation processes
Collaboration & Compliance (25%)
Engage in assessment outreach and education to promote high quality assessment and program review activities
Use assessment results to inform and implement programming and assessment to improve student outcomes
Serve as partner in institutional data governance efforts
Serve as Provost’s/Associate Dean’s designee on relevant committees as needed
Support institutional compliance activities
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree in educational research and assessment or related field preferred
Three years of experience implementing and/or managing data and/or assessment at the program and/or institutional level
Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, the Saint Ben’s and Saint John’s Curricular Approach for assessing beyond the classroom experiences
Demonstrated skill in designing assessment instruments and procedures
Demonstrated skill conducting data analysis and writing reports
Ability to manage large data sets
Understanding of assessment best practices
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging efforts
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work in teams
Results oriented, while sensitive to process
Physical Requirements
Requires working at a computer for extended periods, including typing, reading from a screen, and using various software programs essential for the role.
Travel Requirements
Regular travel between the campuses of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University
