As our next Finance Director, you’ll keep the books balanced and the mission strong, guiding the fiscal health of an agency that supports adults with intellectual disabilities and autism in the Bangor area. You’ll lead a small, capable admin team, collaborate with leadership to make smart financial decisions, and ensure every dollar is used with purpose. Key Responsibilities
Serve as a key member of the Management Team and lead all financial operations
Develop and manage MERT’s annual budget and fiscal strategy
Keep the Executive Director informed of financial performance and trends
Collaborate with our CPA, banking partners, and benefits/insurance administrators
Oversee vendor accounts, payroll, benefits, and general ledger entries in QuickBooks
Prepare monthly reports, allocations, and adjusting journal entries
Manage state contracts, subsidies, and tax reporting
Participate in MACSP financial meetings and calls
Ensure compliance, accuracy, and accountability in all financial activities
Qualifications Candidates should have a minimum of bachelor’s degree in areas such as business, accounting, finance, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of related experience is required. Supervisory and management experience preferred. Strong proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
