Strategic Finance Leader | FP&A | Systems Modernization | Multi-Entity Ministry Environment
Overview Redeemer is seeking a Director of Finance to serve as a senior strategic finance leader across six churches and Redeemer City to City. This role functions as the organization’s forward-facing finance leader, responsible for financial planning, forecasting, systems modernization, automation, and cross-functional partnership. We are seeking an individual who can operate with a strong sense of urgency and is extremely responsive. The ideal candidate is a strong leader and problem solver, with the ability to implement change and new solutions through automation and technologies to address inefficiencies.
The Director of Finance will work closely with executive leadership, ministry leaders, HR, IT, operations, and boards to translate financial data into mission-aligned strategy and build scalable financial systems that support growth, stewardship, and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead enterprise‑wide financial planning & analysis (FP&A)
Own budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, and long‑range planning, fostering faster planning and forecasting cycles
Develop executive dashboards, reports and decision‑support tools for leadership for improved financial visibility and decision‑making
Lead finance systems modernization and automation initiatives, building scalable systems and enhanced workflows
Evaluate and implement new tools and platforms
Redesign financial processes for scalability and efficiency, reducing manual processes and improving efficiency
Partner cross‑functionally with HR, IT and Executive Leadership
Serve as primary finance partner to ministry leaders
Support capital planning, growth initiatives, and strategic projects
Communicate financial insights to executive teams and boards
Lead the effort to restructure and lead the Finance team, bringing the team in‑house, and transitioning from an outsourced accounting group, by teaming with our experienced Controller to build a new in‑house staff.
Qualifications
12+ years of progressive finance leadership experience
MBA or master’s degree in finance or accounting preferred
CPA preferred, but not required
Strong FP&A, modeling, and strategic finance background
Strong technology and computer skills
Experience in multi‑entity organizations strongly preferred
Nonprofit or mission‑driven organization experience
Systems modernization and process transformation experience
Advanced financial modeling and analytics skills
Proven track record of implementing change
Agility to serve 6 different churches and 4 different ministries covering 5 separate entities totaling over $60MM in annual revenue
Alignment with Redeemer Churches and Ministries statement of faith and philosophy of servant leadership.
