The Director of IT Apps leads the strategy, implementation, and management of enterprise-wide business applications, including ERP, PLM, MES, and other critical systems. This role ensures application integrity, security, compliance, and optimal performance while driving innovation through integrations and enhancements. The Director oversees a global team, manages complex projects, and partners with senior leadership to align technology solutions with business objectives, enabling operational efficiency and growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain and manage the Business Application portion of the IT Project Portfolio.

Manage projects and resources (internal & external) to ensure scope, budget, and timeline expectations are met.

Manage all aspects of UCT’s ERP(s), PLM and MES systems which include COTS and home‑grown applications.

Manage other key business applications including HRIS, Travel and Expense management.

Manage UCT’s collaboration platform (SharePoint) and project management applications.

Oversee support of IT compliance requirements related to SOX, security, and software licensing as it pertains to business applications.

Collaborate with auditors and oversee audit activities related to SOX controls for in‑scope business applications.

Lead a team of Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Developers dedicated to running UCT’s IT Application portfolio.

Manage a team situated in multiple geographies and across different time zones.

Develop and implement programs to enhance the team’s skill sets and manage their growth opportunities.

Collaborate with senior leadership, the IT team and other stakeholders to evaluate, select, implement, configure, integrate, design, build, and deploy applications.

Assess business requirements and make recommendations for new applications, enhancements to existing applications, customizations and integrations.

Maintain documentation and management of IT policies and procedures related to business applications with a strong focus on compliance and security.

Build relationships with vendors (existing and new) to align with product roadmap, new functionality and optimize costs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong management, leadership and organizational skills.

Strong communication, relationship building, and interpersonal skills.

Strong negotiation skills with internal customers and external vendors.

Ability to assess business requirements and make recommendations for new applications, enhancements to existing applications, customizations, and/or integrations that satisfy requirements.

Proven ability to document, test, and implement new processes.

Ability to manage multiple cross‑functional projects and resources (internal & external) to ensure scope, budget, and timeline expectations are met.

Proven ability to lead and manage a team of IT professionals in multiple geographies.

Experience in supporting IT compliance requirements related to SOX, Security, and software licensing as it pertains to business applications.

Experience in working with senior leadership, the IT team and other stakeholders to implement, configure, integrate, design, build, and deploy applications.

Extensive experience developing strategic application roadmaps with business alignment.

Experience in hiring resources both in US and Asia.

Good understanding of infrastructure components of an ERP Architecture and experience with designing applications in AWS / Azure.

Previous experience working in a SCRUM or Agile environment desirable.

Educational/Certification Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science or related field.

Experience Requirement Work Experience

10+ Years of experience in ERP. Experience with SAP is a plus.

7-10 years of experience in multiple IT areas with 2-4 years of relevant domain experience.

Advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application design, system engineering and integration.

Management Experience

7+ years of proven strong team building and employee development experience.
