JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: Under the direction of the VP – EHS, Automation & Systems, the Director – Information Technology (IT) will oversee the strategic direction, implementation, and management of information technology systems and automation solutions for all locations within Signicast North America. This role will ensure that the IT infrastructure, software and automation processes align with business goals, drive operational efficiency, and improve overall productivity across manufacturing operations. The Director, IT will work be a member of the executive team and work closely with senior leadership, IT teams, manufacturing operations, and support functions to develop, deploy, and maintain technology solutions, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. The individual should be self-motivated, knowledgeable and collaborative. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded from time to time to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary. Technology Strategy & Leadership: • Lead the IT strategy for the company, aligning technology initiatives with business goals and operational requirements. • Collaborate with senior management to identify opportunities for IT solutions and automation to enhance manufacturing processes, improve quality, and reduce costs. • Develop, implement, document and continuously improve a comprehensive IT roadmap to support business growth, including infrastructure, software, data management, and automation technologies. Team Management & Development: • Manage a cross-functional team of IT professionals and external vendors, ensuring alignment with business objectives and project deliverables. • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration within the IT teams. • Set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and mentor team members to improve their skills and career development. Project & Budget Management: • Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of IT and automation projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope. • Define project requirements, timelines, resources, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success. • Develop and manage budgets for IT infrastructure, software development/maintenance, and automation investments, ensuring cost-effective solutions and maximum ROI. IT Infrastructure & Security: • Ensure the stability, scalability, and security of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud environments. • Develop overall infrastructure strategy that may include internal and cloud-based solutions, while keeping in mind cybersecurity initiatives. • Work with appropriate internal and external parties to implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect manufacturing systems, data, and intellectual property. • Ensure continued compliance with NIST 800-171 and become compliant with CMMC. Knowledge of TISAX a plus. • Oversee data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans to minimize disruptions to manufacturing operations. Automation Systems Management: • Collaborate with the Automation Manager to optimize the integration of ERP systems with manufacturing systems (e.g., MES, PLCs). Software Development and Maintenance • Work with IT team and stakeholders to develop a plan that’s aligned with company objectives for overall ERP software strategy / plan. • Complete conversion from legacy ERP software to the new C# / DotNet solution • Prioritize areas on development and maintenance of legacy vs. new software • For “back office” software not part of the customized software solution, develop process to select related “standard ERP” modules, aligned with company objectives • Deploy and maintain proper SDLC and related documentation for appropriate software Other • Ensure IT team is compliant with the respective areas of the Quality Management Systems • Establish working relationship with internal customers and determine IT requirements as well as keeping all software developed in alignment with business needs and philosophy. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience. Must have at least five years of experience in a similar role and previous experience in related technology.
