
Our client, a pioneering fintech company, is seeking to add a critical new member to their team as they prepare to launch into a significant growth phase. With secured commitments for a $2 million seed round, they are poised to expand their operations and market footprint. The in-house legal resource will play a vital role in ensuring efficient and effective legal management, contributing to the company's strategic objectives and supporting its projected customer growth.
Responsibilities
Handle day-to-day startup legal needs efficiently and cost-effectively.
Manage and draft boilerplate legal documents, including employment contracts.
Review and provide advice on legal documents with a high degree of certainty (80-90%).
Act as a legal advisor to the executive team, offering insights into when to engage larger law firms.
Support the transition of contractors to employees with appropriate legal documentation.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in startup legal work, preferably within the fintech sector.
Proven track record of acting as an advisor to executive teams.
Capability to manage routine legal tasks while balancing costs effectively.
Strong understanding of when and how to partner with larger law firms for complex legal needs.
Flexibility to work approximately 10 hours per month, with potential for increased hours during initial onboarding.
