About the Role As a

Superintendent - Traveling

at

Valor Contracting , you will be responsible for safety compliance, subcontractor coordination, craft supervision and production, scheduling, material handling, daily reports, quality control, training and QA/QC. The Superintendent will oversee day-to-day operations on our construction sites. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Location & Project Information:

This position may travel to various industrial, manufacturing facilities or commercial projects across the United States, primarily within the upper Midwest (MN, ND, SD or Iowa).

Full Time, Exempt

Location & Travel Details: This is a traveling position (up to 100%), where you will be located onsite at a project location for the duration of the project. Reasonable support for meals and lodging will be provided for eligible team members while traveling. This position will be eligible for routine travel home. A company vehicle will be provided.

Position Responsibilities:

Conduct jobsite safety orientations and lead weekly safety meetings.

Create Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) with craft teams; review JHAs submitted by subcontractors.

Ensure subcontractor safety plans and SDS (Safety Data Sheets) are available and followed.

Enforce Valor’s safety policies and procedures on-site.

Develop material handling and site utilization plans for designated project areas.

Coordinate with Project Management on material requirements, RFIs, and other field needs.

Communicate the overall project plan to subcontractors and adjust as necessary.

Create and maintain the master project schedule

Schedule, coordinate, and lead weekly meetings with subcontractor foremen to align on upcoming work.

Support and mentor Field Engineers, Foremen, and craft personnel to foster team development.

Track timekeeping and cost data accurately for all site activities.

Oversee material receiving—ensure thorough inspection of materials for quality/quantity, verify delivery tickets, and provide documentation to accounting.

Ensure all aspects of quality control are met, including both company and subcontractor work.

Develop and implement project hoisting, lifting, and access plans in compliance with safety standards.

Maintain daily logs and organize photo documentation to track project progress.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall project success

We’re Seeking Individuals Who: Have a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent experience

Bring 10+ years of experience in industrial construction, including 3+ years in site supervision

Hold a valid driver’s license and current OSHA 10, CPR, and First Aid certifications

Demonstrate a strong understanding of construction means and methods, building codes, and safety regulations

Are proficient in Procore and Microsoft Office Suite

Have working knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and project documentation

Can confidently interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals

Lead and motivate crews and subcontractors with strong leadership and team management skills

Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, stakeholders, and team members

Solve problems effectively and make informed decisions under pressure

Conduct site inspections and enforce safety and quality standards consistently

Are highly organized, able to prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Identify and mitigate project risks proactively to avoid delays or rework

Are physically capable of navigating active construction sites, including climbing ladders and walking uneven terrain
