Struers, the world's leading manufacturer of material‑testing equipment, is looking for an Outside Technical Sales Representative to generate sales of equipment, accessories and consumables in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Western Canada (Alberta and British Columbia). Primary duties include traveling to existing and potential customers to further equipment and consumable sales, as well as providing on‑site training as required to our Fortune 500 customers and other clients.

The incumbent will work from their home office with support services and training from the US headquarters. The sales representative will travel locally and nationally.

The ideal Outside Technical Sales Representative is a results‑driven sales professional with 3–5 years of prior successful sales experience in industrial or capital equipment sales and is able to travel overnight.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Generate sales of equipment, accessories and consumables consistent with budget levels for the designated sales territory

Travel to existing and potential customers within a designated sales territory to further equipment and consumable purchases

Carry out sales administration tasks required to support sales activities and document changing customer profiles

Maintain records of customer contacts using a CRM software package, ensuring that key contact information is updated, appointment purposes and results are logged and forecast information is accurate

Provide management with accurate forecasts of potential sales on an on‑going basis

Maintain dialog with existing customers to provide technical support, product information and updated pricing

Requirements:

Prior successful sales experience in industrial, or capital equipment sales preferred

Ability for overnight travel

Must be organized with the ability to focus on priority projects and tasks

Excellent communications skills

Expertise with group presentations (PowerPoint) preferred

Working knowledge of computer software programs, Microsoft Office
