Summary of Position:

The Executive Director of Enterprise Learning leads IWU's Talent Studio—a leader's concierge workforce partner for the AI era. Talent Studio serves as the university's fractional L&D solution, extending IWU's reach beyond degrees through integrated learning and growth offerings: online training (AI enablement and skills‑based credentials), transformative in‑person experiences, and expert 1:1 coaching. This role combines chief product officer and operational leader responsibilities, managing P&L while translating business challenges into customized learning solutions that deliver measurable impact. The Executive Director partners closely with organizational clients to understand talent challenges, then orchestrates university‑backed training and credentials that create immediate value with the option to stack toward degrees. The ideal candidate excels at custom solution design, leads matrixed teams effectively, facilitates meaningful client partnerships, and bridges corporate workforce needs with university excellence. Direct reports include Director of Resource Development and Director of Learner and Partner Success, with matrixed relationships to Leadership by Design and BoldPath Coaching leaders.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Talent Studio Integration

Lead Talent Studio as IWU's integrated fractional L&D partner serving organizational clients

Develop product strategy across online training, transformative experiences, and expert coaching

Position Talent Studio as a leader's concierge workforce partner for the AI era

Manage P&L while partnering with Leadership by Design and BoldPath Coaching product leads

Collaborate with VP of Enterprises & Partnerships on strategic planning and market positioning

Client Partnership and Custom Solution Development

Engage with qualified leads to facilitate exploration conversations and demonstrate Talent Studio value

Translate business challenges into customized learning solutions

Co‑design and ensure quality delivery of integrated solutions across online training, in‑person experiences, and coaching

Serve as bridge between business needs and IWU's academic capabilities

Ensure university‑backed credentials deliver measurable business impact and immediate value

Partnering with IWU academic leaders, create stackable pathways with option to build toward degrees

Explore and develop skills‑based learning delivery and assessment in collaboration with employer skills mapping initiatives and state‑wide and national skills conversations

Own ongoing client success and partnership experience post‑sale

Delivery Excellence and Quality Assurance

Recruit and coordinate subject matter experts (to shape learning modules) and learning guides (to work with learners through select certificates) — primarily IWU faculty/adjuncts, occasionally external practitioners

Establish quality standards for facilitators, coaches, instructors, and content

Oversee program implementation in AI‑driven LMS and delivery of in‑person experiences

Coordinate with Leadership by Design and BoldPath Coaching leaders on delivery excellence

Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement

Operations and Performance Management

Maintain P&L responsibility and budget management for Talent Studio

Monitor enrollment, completion rates, business outcomes, and client satisfaction

Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and funding requirements where applicable

Drive data‑driven decision‑making across solution design, delivery, and client success

Team Leadership and Collaboration

Directly manage Director of Resource Development and Director of Learner and Partner Success

Maintain matrixed relationships with Leadership by Design and BoldPath Coaching leaders

Partner with academic teams and DeVoe School to bridge academic excellence with business needs

Foster culture of innovation, client‑centricity, and excellence across Talent Studio

Qualifications According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in education, business, instructional design, workforce development, or related field

Preferred: Master's degree in education, business administration, instructional design, learning technologies, or related field

Experience Preferred five to seven (5-7) years designing and delivering training programs, corporate learning, or workforce development. At least two to three (2-3) years in leadership roles managing teams, budgets, or programs. Demonstrated success creating custom solutions with measurable business impact.

Balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution in entrepreneurial environment

Make data‑driven decisions and work effectively in matrixed relationships

Understand corporate talent development landscape and workforce challenges

AI Knowledge and Workforce Trends

Conversational knowledge of AI tools and business applications (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.)

Discuss AI‑era workforce development credibly with business leaders

Stay current with emerging workforce and learning trends

Note: We need strategic understanding, not technical expertise

Communication and Leadership

Excellent communication with C‑suite leaders, HR/L&D professionals, faculty, and learners

Lead, develop, and coach teams effectively

Facilitate exploration conversations and build trust across diverse stakeholders

Represent IWU and Talent Studio professionally in external settings

Mission Alignment

Strong commitment to IWU's mission, vision, and Christian values

Passion for extending university impact beyond traditional degrees

Values‑driven approach to client partnerships and human‑centered growth

Preferred Experience (Some, Not All)

Corporate L&D, talent development, or organizational consulting background

Higher education or continuing education experience

Workforce development funding or credentialing knowledge

Coaching programs or leadership development initiatives

University faculty engagement or academic partnerships

B2B client support or enterprise sales experience

Other Requirements

Travel as needed for client meetings and partnership development (approximately 10% or less)

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Ability to work flexible hours for client needs and team coordination

Proficiency with project management tools, data analytics platforms, and collaborative technology
