Geospatial-Intelligence (GEOINT) Technical Trainer
to join our team at the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) in Suitland, MD. The selected candidate will train active duty Intelligence Specialists primarily assigned to Multi Sensor Interpretation (MSI)/Imagery Production Intelligence Center (IPIC) work centers aboard U.S Navy aircraft carriers, amphibious assault ships, and equivalent work centers at operational shore sides worldwide as part of the DCGS-N Program Office training team and Naval Information Forces (NAVIFOR) Advanced Information Systems Integration Team (AISIT). This position requires temporary assignments aboard U.S. Navy vessels for 8-10 consecutive days to deliver hands-on operational training in shipboard environments, with a strong emphasis on cross-work center collaboration and integrated intelligence operations.
Responsibilities
Deliver instructor-led GEOINT training as part of DCGS-N Post-Installation Training (PIT) and ad hoc training events. This includes individual skills training on fielded DCGS-N GEOINT tools, system architecture, data ingest, analysis workflows, intelligence production, and dissemination processes in context with mission objectives.
Mentor and advise active duty personnel during AISIT integration support events underway to improve proficiency and cross-workcenter integration, ensuring GEOINT capabilities are effectively leveraged within the broader intelligence architecture. Assist work centers in optimizing DCGS-N configurations to support mission-driven, cross-domain intelligence workflows.
Provide ad hoc mentoring to deploying Fleet Intelligence Detachment (FID) personnel in context with the FID's internal training program.
Collaborate and cross-train with other technical trainers on the team who focus on other intelligence disciplines (e.g., SIGINT, Track Management) to improve training, build depth of knowledge, and enhance integrated operational outcomes.
Collaborate with and support the DCGS-N Service Desk with troubleshooting and corrective action, with assistance, to resolve issues during and after training events. Update training content with applicable lessons learned from troubleshooting incidents.
Develop, maintain, and update lesson plans, training materials, technical manuals, and practical exercises aligned with PMW 120 and NAVIFOR requirements.
Coordinate with program personnel, ONI stakeholders, and shipboard leadership to ensure successful execution of training objectives.
Ensure compliance with Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) requirements for applicable work role(s).
Required Qualifications
4-8 years relevant experience with bachelor's degree in English, psychology, education, communications, or related field. Relevant professional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
Navy Instructor NEC or other service / industry instructor certification equivalent.
U.S. Navy K10A NEC or other service equivalent.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with DCGS-N and GEOINT exploitation systems.
Operational Navy intelligence experience or direct fleet support experience with strong understanding of GEOINT tradecraft and integrated intelligence production workflows.
Experience delivering technical instruction in classroom and/or operational environments.
Willingness and ability to travel, including temporary shipboard assignments for 8-10 consecutive days.
Must obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent qualifying certification) within designated timeframe if not already certified.
Preferred Qualifications
Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
Prior CSWF qualification under DoD 8140/8570.
Deployment experience using DCGS-N in the last 4 years.
Experience facilitating cross-workcenter intelligence integration efforts afloat.
Prior experience with writing procedures and developing video tutorials.
Familiarity with DEV / SEC / OPS concepts and SAFe 6.0 agile framework.
