
Sr Director Strategic Partnerships - Business Development

A Day in the Life:
A newly created leadership role in the Strategic Partnerships team, the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, Business Development will play a critical strategic growth role for the Commercial business. The Senior Director of Business Development is responsible for identifying, developing and executing high impact partnership opportunities that drive revenue and strategic advantage for Hertz. This role owns the end-to-end business development lifecycle from market sizing, opportunity identification and active pipeline management.
The ideal candidate is both highly strategic and operationally excellent, a creative dealmaker who can think beyond traditional partnership models, build compelling business cases and lead a high performing team while collaborating cross-functionally across Hertz.
What You’ll Do:
Partnership Strategy & Growth:
Establish and actively manage a robust pipeline of prospective partners, aligned to company growth priorities
Develop innovative partnership constructs, including non-traditional alliances and new asset exchange structures
Evaluate market trends, competitive dynamics and white space opportunities to advance strategy
Deal Leadership & Execution:
Lead end to end deal execution including opportunity assessment, partners engagement, negotiation and contract execution; ensure stakeholder management throughout with Revenue Management, Legal, Product, Operations, etc.
Build clear, fact-based business cases outlining revenue and financial impacts, strategic rationale, risks and execution considerations
Ensure successful handoff to internal teams for tech needs, launch requirements and ongoing management
Leadership:
Build, lead and manage high-performing business development team with clear performance measurement metrics
Regularly communicate pipeline health, deal progress and strategic insights to senior leadership
Foster culture of accountability, creativity and speed to execution
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field, required.
12+ years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, strategy or a related commercial role required; ideally in travel-related industry
Proven ability to negotiate and close complex, high-value partnerships required.
Demonstrated success establishing and progressing a sustainable pipeline
Strong people leadership experience, including managing direct reports and cross-functional teams
Exceptional relationship building capabilities with strong executive presence and ability to influence at all levels
Outstanding communication and presentation skills
Results driven, ability to work independently and under ambiguity to make decisions and help solve problems
The starting salary for this role is $200K, commensurate with experience.
