Richland County First Steps is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Director of Finance to lead the financial operations of our mission-driven organization. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring strong fiscal management, regulatory compliance, and long-term financial sustainability in support of children and families in our community. Responsibilities
Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, accounting, reporting, and internal controls Ensure compliance with state and federal funding requirements Prepare financial statements Lead annual budgeting and long-term financial planning Serve as fiscal advisor to leadership and the Board Finance Committee Collaborate with auditors, SC First Steps, Office of Head Start, and other key stakeholders Strengthen financial processes and promote fiscal accountability across the organization Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field 3–5 years of financial management experience (nonprofit experience preferred) Experience with fund accounting and federal grants management Proficiency in GAAP, internal controls, Sage INTACCT, and Excel Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills What We Offer
