What You Can Expect
As our Project Management Director, you will provide strategic leadership and executive oversight for executing all capital projects under the ENGIE Capital Projects organization at the Ohio State University. You’ll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget—while maintaining the highest standards of quality, governance, and stakeholder satisfaction.
This position is a cornerstone of ENGIE’s 50-year partnership with the Ohio State University to operate, maintain, and enhance the campus utility infrastructure. The projects under your direction—ranging from lifecycle renewals to major expansions and modernization efforts—will strengthen the University’s energy resilience, reliability, and sustainability for future generations.
No two days are the same. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of project managers and construction professionals, interface with University and ENGIE leadership, and drive continuous improvement across all delivery processes. Your success will be measured by how effectively you balance strategic oversight with hands‑on guidance to ensure safe, efficient, and value‑driven project delivery.
Additional duties include the following:
Provide executive leadership and direction for delivering all capital projects under the Capital Projects organization
Oversee project execution to ensure compliance with ENGIE and University standards for safety, schedule, cost, and quality
Manage a portfolio of projects aligned with the University’s Five-Year Plan and ENGIE’s concession objectives
Mentor and lead a team of Project Managers, Project Coordinators and Construction Managers
Collaborate with the Business Development and Energy Delivery directors to ensure seamless project handoffs and operational integration
Lead governance and reporting processes, ensuring consistency in project controls, documentation, and performance metrics
Review contracts, bids, and procurement strategies to ensure risk is allocated correctly and mitigated
Serve as the primary liaison with University executives, regulatory bodies, and ENGIE’s senior leadership
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, safety programs, and lessons learned processes across the delivery organization.
Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle
What You’ll Bring
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Minimum ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in capital project management, utility infrastructure, or industrial construction
Minimum five (5) years in a senior leadership role managing teams of project managers or construction professionals
Proven ability to deliver large-scale, complex high‑value projects safely and successfully
Deep understanding of project controls, contract management, and risk mitigation
Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and forecasts
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to engage both technical and executive audiences
Experience with Public‑Private Partnership (P3) environments
PMP certification is desirable
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and team development
Additional Details
This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
Must be available to travel domestically up to 10% of the time
Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; involves occasional fieldwork across active construction sites
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range:
$157,000 – $190,000 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
