
The Burt Group is seeking an experienced and driven Superintendent
to oversee high-end
residential construction projects from permit through closing and warranty. This role works closely with the Project Manager to coordinate scheduling, permitting, procurement, document control, and field execution. The Superintendent is responsible for managing the day-to-day field operations of multiple residential homes, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents and The Burt Group’s high standards of quality and customer service. Project & Field Management
Manage the full lifecycle of residential construction projects from planning and permitting through occupancy and post-close warranty. Oversee daily jobsite operations, ensuring work is executed according to construction documents, specifications, schedules, and company standards. Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction schedules in coordination with the Project Manager. Coordinate and supervise all subcontractors and suppliers across trades to ensure quality, productivity, and adherence to schedule. Conduct daily jobsite inspections to monitor workmanship, safety compliance, cleanliness, and progress. Halt any work that does not meet plans, specifications, scope, or applicable building codes. Maintain organized and current drawing logs, blueprints, submittal registries, and project documentation on site at all times. Track time and material work performed on projects. Scheduling, Procurement & Coordination
Assist the Project Manager with scheduling subcontractors for each phase of residential construction and conduct weekly subcontractor coordination meetings. Assist the Project Manager with procurement planning and material tracking. Oversee material deliveries, equipment coordination, manpower mobilization, temporary utilities, staging areas, and field office setup. Participate in preconstruction meetings and ongoing project meetings throughout the project lifecycle. Work with the Project Team to determine labor and material needs specific to residential construction projects. Quality Control & Inspections
Ensure all work meets The Burt Group’s standards of workmanship and complies with local, state, and federal building codes. Conduct timely quality control inspections and coordinate all required municipal and third-party inspections. Review contract drawings and specifications for inconsistencies, design deficiencies, impractical details, or potential code violations, and communicate concerns to the Project Manager. Manage punch lists and oversee completion of corrective work prior to closing. Authorize subcontractor payments only after verifying satisfactory completion of work and materials delivered. Client & Customer Experience
Serve as the primary on-site contact for homeowners throughout construction. Conduct homeowner orientations, pre-drywall walkthroughs, and final walks. Provide consistent progress updates and promptly address homeowner questions or concerns. Maintain strong relationships with clients, property owners, inspectors, design professionals, and community stakeholders. Manage the post-close warranty process, including evaluating requests, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring timely resolution. Safety & Compliance
Enforce strict adherence to safety policies and OSHA standards. Organize and facilitate weekly jobsite safety meetings. Ensure subcontractors provide proof of required safety training or attend on-site safety meetings. Perform daily safety inspections to maintain a safe and orderly jobsite environment. Maintain community cleanliness and ensure all jobsites remain organized and visually professional. Assist the Project Manager with monthly requisitions and documentation for owner billing. Maintain accurate daily logs and production tracking. Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled prior to closing. Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner that supports company profitability and client satisfaction. Qualifications & Skills
Strong knowledge of residential construction practices, scheduling, and building codes. Ability to manage multiple homes simultaneously. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship. Ability to work extended hours as necessary to meet project deadlines.
