
Human Resources at the University of Nevada, Reno, seeks strategic, dynamic, and results-driven candidates to champion Human Resources functions as a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP).
This posting is for a current opening in Advancement and for future openings in other Colleges and Divisions on campus. This posting is for either level of HRBP and will be determined based on organizational need and experience of the successful candidate. Positions report to Human Resources with a dotted-line relationship to the supported business unit.
HR Business Partner
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) oversees and leads day-to-day delivery and execution of human resources programs, policies and initiatives for an assigned school, college, or business function. The HRBP serves as a trusted advisor and partner to leaders, faculty, and staff, providing guidance, support, and solutions in the areas of organizational development, training, recruitment, classification and compensation, performance management, employee relations, data and reporting, accommodations and leaves. The position will also provide support in the completion of required HR processes, including Workday and Payroll transactions. The HRBP needs to thrive in a dynamic environment that changes frequently and be passionate about driving organizational success through Faculty and staff strategies. Senior HR Business Partner
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) provides strategic leadership and oversight of HR initiatives for an assigned school, college, or business unit. Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, this position aligns people strategies with institutional and unit goals across workforce planning, organizational development, recruitment, classification and compensation, employee relations, and learning and development. The Senior HRBP exercises a high degree of independence and judgment to influence decisions, design effective structures, and foster inclusive, high-performing cultures. The role partners with central HR teams to ensure consistency in policy application while tailoring solutions to meet unit needs. The position may lead or mentor HR or administrative staff and oversee HR operations, data reporting, and compliance efforts. Required Qualifications
HR Business Partner
Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or a related field and three (3) years of related work experience;
OR Master’s Degree in human resources or a related field and two (2) year of related work experience. Related Experience: Human Resources experience as a generalist advising, consulting, and completing HR actions and influencing people outcomes or related. Senior HR Business Partner
Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or a related field and five (5) years of related work experience;
OR Master’s Degree in human resources or a related field and three (3) years of related work experience. Related Experience: Human Resources experience as a HR business partner or senior-level generalist with experience in multiple functional areas (such as employee relations, classification and compensation, organizational development, recruiting, etc.) and experience leading HR initiatives or projects or related. Preferred Qualification
SHRM or HRCI certification preferred Schedule and Travel

HR Business Partner, Administrative Faculty – B (salary range: $71,088 – $90,000) Senior HR Business Partner, Administrative Faculty – C (salary range: $86,320– $129,480) Salary is based on department budgets, internal equity, and related education and experience.
