General Summary
The Multimedia Systems Power team has an exciting opportunity to lead a team that works on best-in-class technologies of Camera, Video encoding/decoding, and Computer Vision. These technologies are the heart of billions of Snapdragon devices used for Mobile, Automotive, IOT, AR/VR and Compute across the globe. The team is responsible for System power Architecture; and Power budgeting, projections and optimization of all multimedia use cases including camcorder, video playback and computer vision. We are looking for a Sr. Staff or above level Engineer with experience in System Level power optimzations and methodologies to model and project power at use-case level. Your work will have the potential to shape the most power efficient devices in the globe, delivered to billions of Snapdragon users.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of talented engineers responsible for developing novel power optimized architecture design for multimedia systems.
Implement power models for multimedia IP cores.
Do system level power analysis of various video and camera use-cases.
Work with multiple teams during commercialization to correlate power and meet power target.
Work with post Si teams to correlate power and verify if power target were met.
Key Skills
BSEE with 10+ years of relevant experience, or MSEE with 8+ years of relevant experience.
Solid foundation in Electrical Systems Engineering, with the ability to work with various modeling tools at a detailed level.
Systems/HW background with a good understanding of microprocessor architecture and common SoC hardware blocks.
Experience with algorithms, architectures, systems in one or more areas of camera/image processing, video compression, computer vision.
Experience in systems analysis and modeling using various modeling tools at a detailed level.
Be able to present, communicate and train low power design to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question.
Good communication, planning and execution skills are a must due to fast-paced cross-functional interaction.
Familiarity with SoC architectures and system-level design practices.
Familiarity with multi‑media use‑cases (Camcorder, video playback, computer Vision, AI) is a plus.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits $211,900.00 - $317,900.00. The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
