Our mission is simple: move communities to health while maintaining the highest standard of safety, period.**Position Overview:**We are seeking a motivated **Legal Associate** to join our Legal Department at a growing, fast-paced emergency healthcare services company whose mission is “Bringing Communities To Health.”This position will play a key role in preparing and conducting quality control reviews for medical fee arbitrations conducted under the **Federal No Surprises Act (NSA)**.

This position may also provide additional legal support at the direction of the General Counsel, including the review and drafting of non-disclosure, commercial and healthcare‑related agreements, litigation support, and general legal operations support.This role offers meaningful exposure to healthcare law, federal arbitration processes, and commercial contracting in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment, and an opportunity for mentorship and development of legal skills. This role involves a higher degree of independent legal judgment and discretion, exercised under attorney supervision.The successful candidate will be a strong legal writer with exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and the professionalism to support work that may be reviewed by regulators, arbitrators, courts, or executive leadership.**Responsibilities Include:*** Draft and perform careful quality control reviews of NSA arbitration filings.* Collaborate with the NSA Legal Team to identify errors, inconsistencies, or potential risks in arbitration filings, as well as ways to improve them.* Review and organize documents and exhibits for arbitration filings.* At the request of the General Counsel, draft or review non-disclosure, commercial and healthcare-related agreements.* At the request of the General Counsel, provide support for NSA-related litigation matters.* At the request of the General Counsel, provide general legal operations support for the team.* Utilize the Company’s project management platform for all Legal-related tasks.* Maintain accurate records and case files.* Communicate effectively with team members, internal clients, and other stakeholders.* Perform other related duties as assigned to support the NSA Legal Team.**Schedule/Location:*** 5 & 2* Tempe, AZ**The Successful Candidate Will Have:*** Juris Doctor degree (bar licensure preferred but not required).* Experience in document preparation / review, quality control, or compliance.* Excellent legal writing skills.* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.* Demonstrable maturity, professionalism, and gravitas.* Able to adapt to changing conditions, and to generate effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they arise.* Understanding of personalities and behavioral styles in order to work collaboratively with a variety of people and to make informed decision around resourcing, reporting structures and relationships.* Experience working in healthcare a plus.**Compensation and Benefits:*** We offer a range of competitive pay and benefits package to keep our teams happy, healthy, and invested.**Our Core Competencies:*** **Safe.** We are absolute in our belief in the tenets of Destination Zero and that Zero is not only achievable, but the only acceptable outcome.* **Efficient.** We are focused on outcomes that are smart and responsible by making the best use of our resources to maximize overall productivity and achieve sustainable profitability as a high performing organization.* **Quality.** We are committed to ensuring excellent organizational performance which produces sustainable and reliable outcomes.* **Service.** We are dedicated to the service of our customers, our communities and each other.**Behavioral Competencies**:* **Drive & Energy** – The ability to maintain a fast pace and continue to produce during exhausting circumstances.* **Functional & Technical Expertise** – Allows the individual to add organizational value through unique expertise and serve as a resource to the organization within his/her area of expertise* **High Standards** – Sets the stage for continuous improvements, the adoption of best practices and ultimately influences organizational standards.* **Initiative** – Takes a proactive approach and takes action without being prompted.* **Integrity** – Acts ethically and honestly and applies those standards of behavior to daily work activities.**The PHI Health Advantage:**For more than 40 years, our company has been providing critical air medical transport services across the country.
