What We Are Looking For
This position provides support within academic support services at Baylor University, and is responsible for advising, monitoring, and tracking academic progress of student-athletes. The ability to interact with a wide range of constituents including student-athletes, coaches and Athletics staff, faculty, and campus partners is essential. The ideal candidate must have prior intercollegiate athletics advising experience.
A Bachelor's Degree, two years of relevant experience, and a Christian faith are required. A Master's Degree and 2-3 years of relevant experience are preferred.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
What You Will Do
Academic Advising: Direct contact with coaches and student-athletes (personal, academic and career advising; changing schedules, assisting in procedural matters, and verifying that classes meet degree requirements as well as NCAA eligibility requirements). Monitor academic eligibility of student-athletes. Communicate with supervisor and Athletics Compliance Office any pertinent information.
Academic Liaison: Communicate with campus advisors, professors, and other faculty relating to requirements, progress, and the academic standing of the assigned student-athletes.
Other Duties: Assist in requiring all intercollegiate athletic programs to maintain compliance with Baylor University policies and procedures, as well as Big 12 conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Communicate immediately any possible NCAA infractions to the Athletic Compliance staff.
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
Ability to comply with University policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
