
Overview
Community Canvassers must be great communicators who are willing and able to use the script to deliver an inclusive and persuasive message. They must be attentive and responsive during conversations with voters. Community Canvassers must be polite, upbeat and engaging. They will walk neighborhoods, talking to voters about our candidates on their doorsteps and in high traffic areas. All candidates must complete a 2 hour (unpaid) training prior to assuming the position.
Compensation and training Starting pay is $20 an hour. Training is a 2 hour unpaid session prior to assuming the position.
Qualifications
Be 16 (with working papers) or older.
Be comfortable speaking with all ethnicities.
Have excellent listening skills.
Must be able to document important conversations that occur.
Know how to use a tablet.
Have a social security number or green card.
Have a valid state/government ID, or school ID if under 18 years of age.
Be able to walk a full five hours.
Have a working, charged smartphone at all times. (Phone must be able to receive calls and have internet access without connectivity to WiFi)
Exhibit professionalism while directly engaging with the public and team members.
