WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Vice President, National Alternative Delivery Deputy Director (Pre-Award). The successful candidate will have extensive experience in procurement and pre-award delivery of major infrastructure projects using alternative delivery methods (e.g., P3, DB, or PDB). Any location within the US will be considered, but the successful candidate must be available and willing to travel extensively to project/pursuit and client locations.
The National Alternative Delivery Deputy Director (Pre-Award) will lead the firm's efforts to position WSP strategically within the alternative delivery industry to successfully identify, pursue, and win alternative delivery projects. Responsibilities include overseeing the management of key national relationships with contractors and concessionaires, evaluating and recommending selection of appropriate alternative delivery project opportunities, and overseeing a portfolio of pre-award pursuits across business lines to meet target win rates, financial goals, and risk objectives in the U.S. alternative delivery industry.
Your Impact
Oversee the execution of WSP’s national contractor client account management program for contractors and concessionaires.
Lead strategic planning efforts to identify and pursue alternative delivery project opportunities across all WSP’s US business lines.
Oversee the firm’s approach and participation in industry events related to growing WSP’s market profile within the alternative delivery industry.
Work collaboratively with the National Alternative Delivery Director, business line executives, and regional leadership to establish sales goals and drive strategies to achieve them.
Partner with national business lines and regional leadership to assess opportunities and potential partners and position WSP to pursue and win their chosen opportunities.
Work collaboratively with regional business lines and firm resources to ensure that the alternative delivery portfolio of pre-award projects have the resources to be successful in terms of schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in delivery excellence in the firm’s portfolio of alternative delivery projects in the pre-award phase.
Ensure team compliance with company safety, quality, and technical standards.
Adhere to all internal processes and procedures related to assigned responsibilities.
Assist with additional duties as delegated by firmwide leaders.
Who You Are Required Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum 30+ years of professional engineering experience that includes responsibility for the pursuit and execution of large civil infrastructure design and design management on alternative delivery projects.
Candidate must have a job history working for a contractor (general contractor or designer) with a proven background in winning and successfully delivering alternative delivery projects worth more than $500M in construction value.
Big-picture thinker, commercially minded with proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Maintained client relationships with contractors, concessionaires, and other private entities that serve the alternative delivery industry.
Experienced in development and management of strategic marketing programs.
Experience maintaining a visible and positive profile with industry associations related to the alternative delivery industry.
Experience collaborating amongst various design leadership, technical disciplines and across regional organizational boundaries.
Strong communications, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to mentor others.
Proactive approach to leadership including personal ownership of a portfolio of projects to ensure compliance with schedule, quality, and financial metrics.
Strategic vision to position WSP as the pre-eminent designer for alternative delivery contractor/concessionaire teams.
Demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature judgment.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Compensation Expected Salary (all locations): $320,000 - $388,000
